Production of defective proteins, which are abundant in cancers can harm the cells. Therefore, our cells use the Ribosome Quality Control (RQC) process that prohibits the production of faulty proteins, thereby avoiding their harmful consequences. We aim to elucidate the molecular mechanism of this process and define the role of RQC in cancer.
